In September we began a new Sunday schedule that encourages us to get back to our baptismal promise of establishing the importance of worship in the lives of our children. With multiple styles of worship each Sunday, offered in two different time periods of the day, there will be something for everyone.
8:30 AM Contemporary
10:30 AM Traditional
5:00 PM We will add an evening service with rotating styles of worship.
1st Sunday – Vespers/Service of the Word
2nd Sunday – Taize
3rd Sunday – Folk style
4th Sunday – Jazz Service
5th Sunday – Folk style
At 9:30 AM, between the two worship services, we have the Education Hour. Here are some highlights:
The Book of Faith (Lutheran insights for Bible Study)
· Where: Education Hour
· Who: Intergenerational. For post-confirmation age and older. Drop-ins welcome!
Sunday School
· Where: Opening in Hope’s sanctuary, then go to individual classrooms
· Who: Pre-K through 5th graders
Confirmation
· Where: Youth Room
· Who: 6th through 8th graders
Coffee/Fellowship
· Where: Nielsen Hall
· Who: Anyone who perhaps is not quite ready to join the Book of Faith group, but wants to have a place for fellowship and coffee.
Occasional special fellowship events
· Periodically we will give everyone a break and offer a featured speaker or group or presenter.
· We will announce these options several weeks in advance so that everyone can plan for these or other options.
For other education opportunities, not on Sunday morning, we are still offering men’s breakfast, women’s circles and Church History classes with Pastor Bob. As the Education Hour is fine-tuned, we will be looking at other education options outside of Sunday mornings, so check back often.
